Schoolyard Wildlife Habitat Workshop

Class Description: Imagine a fun day in the forest when Blue Bells, Wild Orchids, Trilliums, and other woodland flowers are in bloom. Spend a day exploring a woodland forest and adjoining butterfly garden. Use binoculars to look for signs of life (birds, squirrels, rabbits, etc.) Learn to identify trees, butterflies, and their host plants via a fun scavanger hunt. Help plant "Fire Pinks" and "Blue Phlox" among the trees and learn about native plants unique to Arkansas and how they tie into Arkansas History. Learn to incorporate Common Core objectives through activities such as printing shirts with collected leaves to help remember names of trees. **Please bring a sack lunch and Tee Shirt |
